About the Author

I’m not a pastor. I’m not a therapist. I’m not someone who figured it all out early and decided to write about it.

I’m someone who went through a divorce, struggled with alcohol, spent years carrying things I didn’t know how to name, and kept living from a broken place long after I should have known better.

And eventually — slowly, not all at once — God got ahold of what was actually broken. Not my circumstances. My heart.

That’s what I write about.

My books aren’t theory. They come from real life — from pain I’ve sat in, from lies I believed for too long, from the slow and sometimes brutal process of learning to see myself the way God sees me instead of through the lens of everything that happened to me.

I write for teenagers and young adults who are carrying something heavy and don’t have words for it yet. I write for people who’ve been hurt by the ones who were supposed to protect them. I write for people who look fine and aren’t.

Not because I studied those people.

Because I was one of them.
